Father’s Day is this weekend!
With end of school activities and the start of summer camp and classes, Father’s Day has just snuck up out of nowhere. If you’re like me, you are all the sudden thinking “What can I pull together in a few days?”
Well, I have found a few last minute ideas kids can make to wish their “super” dad an awesome day. Most of these crafts just require a little paint, a bit of imagination, and an hour or less of your time.
Handprint & Footprint Super Hero Dads
A piece of poster board or a small canvas, some paint, and a willing little artist and this gift will be complete in no time.
My Dad’s A Hero Printable Art
Busy Mom’s Helper blog offers three super hero dad printables on their site that can be easily downloaded and printed. After printing, each one can be framed to be given to the “super” dad in your life. Could even pair one of these printables with a photo of the child or children and their dad to add an extra personalized touch to the gift.
DIY Superhero Father’s Day Card
This card has a secret identity hiding inside. Sheknows.com provides step-by-step directions to create a superhero card for dads with some creative use of paper and buttons.
“My Dad is a Superhero because…” Letter
A child’s thoughts on why their dad is a hero to them can quickly become a lasting keepsake. Located on Wikkistix.com is a decorative letter template for kids to print out to use when writing about why their dad is a superhero to them.
Draw Dad As A Superhero
One of my husband’s and my favorite gifts was a picture our daughter drew of us as superheroes. I loved it so much that I had it turned into a magnet that I can look at everyday. Kids’ drawings can easily be framed and given as a gift. Drawings are one of the simplest and quickest ways to create a memorable gift. Sometimes the simplest gift is the best gift.
Honorable Mention: “Yoda the Best Dad” Handprint Card
Yoda is a hero and super cool, so thought I would include this Star Wars craft for the fun of it. Step-by-step directions can be found on the “I Heart Arts N Crafts” website.
